3 cups cooked rice
2 cans cream of mushroom soup, divided
l-l/2 cups milk, divided
4 cups cubed smoked ham
l/2 cup chopped onions
3 to 4 cups cooked asparagus, cut into l-l/2″ pieces
2 cups bread crumbs
2/3 cup butter
Mix rice, l can of soup, l/2 cup milk, ham and onions in a large bowl. Pour half of this mixture into a 3qt. casserole dish. Cover with asparagus and then the remaining mixture. Mix the remaining can of soup with remaining l cup of milk and pour over all. Cover with crumbs that have been lightly browned in butter. Bake at 375 for 45-50 mins.
The amount of bread crumbs is very generous and may be altered to fit the surface of the casserole. Prodigy
