l loaf french bread (about l lb.)
l stick butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
Preheat broiler. Cut bread in half lengthwise. Place butter and garlic in a large roasting pan and heat over top of stove until buter melts. Place bread halves, cut sides down in broiler and toast until golden brown. Lift bread from broiler and place face down in melted butter mixture in roastingpan; push the bread around a bit to get the butter to soak in. Remove bread from butter and slice to serve.
