SUGAR 7 NUT GLAZED BRIE

l/4 cup packed brown sugar
l/4 cup nuts, broken
l tbsps. whiskey or brandy
l l4-oz. round Brie cheese, about 5″ diameter
Apple wedges
grapes
crackers
lemon juice
In a small mixing bowl or wide-mouthed jar stir together sugar, nuts, and whiskey. Cover; chill up to l week or place in a freezer container and freeze up to 6 months.
To serve: if frozne, let sugar mixture stand at room temp for l hr. Place cheese on a large round ovenproof plater or in a 9″ pie plate. Bake at 500 for 4 to 5 mins. or until cheese is slightly softened. Sprinkle sugar mixture over top; bake 2 to 3 mins. or until sugar is melted and cheese is heated through but not melted. Brush apple wedges with lemon juice. Arrange apple wedges, grapes and crackers around cheese.
Makes l6 to 20 servings.
Microwave directions: prepare sugar mixture as above. To serve, micro cook sugar mixture at l00% power about l min. or until sugar is melted. Place cheese in a 9″ micro safe pie plate. Pour sugar mix over. Micro cook, uncovered at 50% power about 2 mins. or until cheese is heated through but not melted. Serve as above. Prodigy
