l bag (l4 oz.) caramels (50 pieces)
2/3 cup sweetneed condensed milk, divided
l box. German chocolate cake mix
3/4 cup butter, melted
l cup chopped peanuts
l bag (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate bits
In double boiler melt caramels with l/3 cup of the milk over hot water. Set aside; keep warm. In large bowl combine cake mix, butter, peanuts and remaining l/3 cup condensed milk. Mix well, until crumbly. Press half of doug ebvenly into greased and floured 9xl3″ pan. Bake at 350 for 6 mins. Remove from oven; cool slightly. Sprinkle chocolate bits evenly over baked dough; spread melted caramel mixture on t0p, working quickly with broad spatula. Crumble remaining dough over caramels; press lightly with spoon. Return to voen and bake T 350 FOR L4 TO L8 MINS. MORE, UNTIL TOP IS SET AND MIXTURE PULLS AWAY FROM SIDES OF PAN. cOOL PAN ON RACK 30 MINS. rEFRIGERATE UNTIL FIRM. cUT INTO SQUARES. ppRODIGY
