PENZY’S CREAM CHEESE POUND CAKE

3 sticks butter, softened
8 oz. cream cheese
3 cups sugar
6 eggs
3 cups flour
l tbsps. vanilla
icing:
l/2 cup powdered sugar
l tbssps. utter, softened
2-3 tbsps. milk
Whip butter and cream cheese toether. add suga and beat well on high speed until light and fluffy. sgarting with 2 eggs, hen l cup flour, alernae adding eggs and flour, mixing well begtween each addition. add vanilla at the end and mix well. grease and flour a tube or bundt pan, carefully pour in batter. place in a cold oven. turn oven to 340 and bake cake for l-l/2 hrs. this is a dense, moist cake so insert a toothpixck in middle to see if the cake is done, it should come out relatively clean. let cool bfiefly, carefully turn out of pan. compleely cool before whisking icing ingredients together and drizzling over cake.
