l lb. kielbasa quartered lengthwise & cut into l/2″ thick pieces
6 garlic cloves, minced
l bunch of broccoli (about l lb.), stems peeled and cut into l/2″
pieces and the leaves and flowerets chopped coarse
l cup water
l lb. spiral-shaped pasta such as rotelle or fusilli
3 tbsps. olive oil, or to taste
In a heavy skillet brown the kielbasa over moderate heat, stirring,
transfer it with a slotted spoon to paper towels to drain, and
pour off all but l tbsp. of fat. In the remaining fat in the
skillet cook the garlic over mod. low heat, stirring, until golden,
add the broccoli & cook mixture, stirring, for l min. or until the
broccoli is wilted. Add the water, simmer mixture, stirring, for
5-7 mins. or till broccoli is tender – then stir in kielbasa. In a
kettle of boiling water cook pasta until a dent and drain. In large
bowl toss together pasta, the oil, kielbasa mixture and s & p .
