You take numerous cans of plum tomatoes, drain the tomatoes, put
them into a large roasting pan, drizzle them with olive oil, and
sprinkle them with chopped garlic. You then bake this in a moderate
oven for a very long time (the waiter was unclear about how long,
but he did say you had to stir it once every half hour to get the
browned parts mixed in with the rest. This might be a good thing to
try on a winter’s day when you have no intention of leaving the
house and have invited a couple of worthy friends to come for dinner
.
Serve hot or cold with a loaf of bread and a bean salad, this makes
a dinner I would walke through fire for.
