LA BREA TAR PUT CHICKEN WINGS

24 chicken wings (abougt 4 lbs.)
l cup soy sauce
l/2 cup dry red wine
l/2 cup plus l tbsps. sugar
l/4 tsp. ground ginger
Heat oven 400. Cut off wing tips reserving for another use and halves wings at joint. Arrange wings, skin sides down in roasting pan large enough to hold them in one layer. In a smallsaucepan heqat remaining ingredients over mod. low heat. stirring until sugar is dissolves and pour over wings. Bake wings in middle of oven45 mins. Turn wings over and bvake until cooking liquid is thick and sticky about 45 to l hr. more. Transfer to platter. Serves 8 to l2 as appetizer. Goumet
