HUNGARIAN APPLE CAKE

2 cups sifted flour
dash of salt
l/2 lb. butter
l-l/2 tbsps. vinegar – l-l/2 tbsps. water
l/2 cup sugar
2 tsps.. cinnamon
l/2 cup melted butter
5 large apples, peeled and sliced thin
Sift flour and salt into bowl. Add butter and blend together. Or use
food processor to mix butter into flour evenly. Combine water and
vinegar. Add and continue mixing dough until well blended. Form into
a ball cover and refrigeratge overnight. Remove dough from refriger-
ator l/2 hour before using. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Roll dough
out as thin as possible. Roll dough to fit a l0xl6″ cookie sheet.
Arrange apple slices in neat rows as evenly and as uniformly as poss
ible. Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon on top. Pour the melted butter
over all. Bake at 375 for 25 mins. or until delicately browned on
top. Cut into squares or strips. Can be served with or without
whipped cream.

or with whipped cream.)
