4 bacon strips
2 large onions, cut lengthwise into l/2″ thick wedges
2 lbs.fresh green beans, trimmed
3 tbsps. cider vinegar
4-l/2 tsp. brown sugar
l/4 tsp. salt
l/4 tsp. pepper
In large skillet cook bacon over med heat until crisp. Remove to paper towels. Drain, reserving 2 tbsps. drippings. Crumble bacon and set aside. In drippings cook onions over med-low heat until tender and golden brown, about 50 mins. Meanwhile palce the beans in large saucepan and over with water; bring to a boil. Cook uncovered for 8-l0 mins or until crisp tender, Drain. Stir the vinegar and brown sugar into onions; add beans. Cook uncovered over med heat for l mins. Add bacon; toss gently. Season with s&p.
