CREAM CHEESE POUND CAKE

l-l/2 cups butter, plus more for pan
l eight oz. pkg. cream cheese
3 cups sugar
6 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
3 cups flour
l tsp. salt
Heat oven 325. Lightly butter l0″ tube pan and line with paper (forget that)
lCombine butter and cream cheese in bowl of electric mixer fitted sith attachment and beat on med speed until smooth. Add sugar, increase to high and beat until light and airy, about 5 mins. Add eggs one at a time after each addition and scraping down sides of bowl. Add vanilla then the flour and salt all at once. Beat just until incorporated. Pour batter into prepared pan and shake lightly to even out the top. Bake until cake is golden brown and tester comes out clean. About l hr. Place on rack ana cool for 20 mins. Remove cake from rack and cool completely.
