4 oz. unsweetened chocolate chopped
6 tbsps. butter cut into small pieces
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
l/2 cup flour
2 tbsps. unsweetened cocoa powder
l/4 tsp. baking powder
l/2 tsp. salt
l cup sugar
3 large eggs l-l/2 tsp. vanilla
Melt unsweetneed chocolate, butter and l cup chocolate chips in l qt. heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring occaisonally. Cool. Stir together flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Beat together sugar, eggs and vanilla with an electric mixer until pale and frothy, about 2 mins. Mix in melted chocolate mixture and then flour mixture at low speed until combined well. Stir in remaining cup chips. Chill, covered, until firm, about 2 hrs. Heat oven 350. Roll heaping tsps. of dough into l” balls with dampened hands and arrange 2″ apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake in batches in middle of oven until puffed and set, about l0 mins. (cookies will be soft in center). nasfer to racks to cool.
