5 cups coarsely chopped cabbage
l-l/4 cups milk
2 tbsps. butter
2 tbsps. flour
l/2 tsp. salt
l/8 tsp. pepper
l-l/4 cups milk
l/2 cup chopped yellow sweet pepper
l/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
l/4 cup chopped onion
4 cups prepared crumbled corn bread
Phreat oven 375. In med. saucepan cook cabbage, covered, in a small amoung of boiling, lightly salted water for 5 mins. drain. In the same saucepan mmelt butter. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Add milk all at once. Cook and stir over med. heat until chickened and bubbly. Stir in yellow sweet pepper, cheese and onion. Stir until cheese is melted Remove from heat. Plce 3 cups of the corn bread in a 2 qt. casserole. Top with cooked cabbage, sacue and then the remaining l cup of corn bread. Bake uncovered for 30 to 35 mins. or until heated through.
